Hyundai Motor Malaysia Debuts – New Era of Mobility

Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), now a direct subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company, has officially launched, signaling a major brand presence in Malaysia. The debut includes the release of three new, Malaysian-spec Hyundai models:


1. Hyundai STARIA

  • Variants: Style (10-seater), Prime (10-seater), Prestige (7- & 10-seater)

  • Engine: 2.2L CRDi diesel, 177 PS, 430 Nm

  • Transmission: 8-speed automatic, 2WD

  • Special Features (Prestige):

    • Brass chrome accents, panoramic windows, dual sunroof

    • Premium relaxation seats (7-seater Prestige)

    • BOSE® 12-speaker audio, 1,024L boot, dual sunroof

  • SmartSense Safety: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping, Lane Following, Blind-Spot Warning, Smart Cruise Control, Safe Exit Assist

2. New Hyundai TUCSON

  • Design: Sporty redesign, hybrid option for the first time in Malaysia

  • Variants:

    • 2.0L Smartstream petrol, 156 PS, 192 Nm, 6AT

    • 1.6L T-GDi turbo, 180 PS, 265 Nm, 7DCT

    • 1.6L Hybrid, 235 PS, 367 Nm, 6AT

  • Interior: Panoramic dual 12.3" screen, floating console, fingerprint authentication

  • SmartSense Safety: Full suite similar to STARIA + features like Surround View Monitor (Prestige)

  • Notable: Hybrid variant sets new efficiency benchmarks


3. All-New Hyundai SANTA FE

  • Variants: 6- and 7-seater; Calligraphy trim (top spec)

    • 1.6L Hybrid, 235 PS, 367 Nm, 6AT
